With approval from the Financial Services Authority (OJK), Sun Life Indonesia intends to separate (spin-off) its Sharia Business Unit into a fully independent Sharia insurance company. This initiative demonstrates our commitment to meeting the increasing demand for Sharia-compliant financial solutions and underscores our dedication to supporting Indonesia's Sharia financial sector with tailored services for our clients’ needs.

The new Sharia insurance company is planned to operate exclusively in the Sharia insurance sector, offering clients enhanced products and services specifically designed to align with Sharia principles. By creating a dedicated Sharia insurance entity, Sun Life Indonesia can provide clients with more specialized, relevant options to meet their evolving needs. This focused approach will support innovations in Sharia product development and ensure a more efficient, customer-centered experience.

To facilitate a seamless transition, all current policyholder portfolios of the Shariah unit will be automatically transferred to the new company, with all policy rights and benefits intact. The entire process is being conducted under OJK’s guidance, ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements. Clients can rest assured that their existing rights, obligations, and benefits will be preserved, and no action will be required from them during the transfer.

Sun Life Indonesia remains committed to delivering uninterrupted service and support throughout this transition. The plan for the spin-off process is expected to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2026.
